BACK TO MY ROOTS: IEBC finally clears Wajackoya to contest

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has been cleared to contest for presidency in the August polls.

Wajackoyah who appeared before the commission for the second time on Thursday was on Monday turned away because of insufficient signatures.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati congratulated Wajackoya urging him to conduct peaceful campaigns.

“We can now confirm that you have met the minimum requirements…we have accepted your nomination as a Presidential candidate for the 2022 General Election…congratulations,” said Chebukati.

Integrity

Speaking to the press accompanied by his running mate Justina Wamae, Wajackoya expressed his satisfaction with the process noting that it was conducted with integrity.

“Kenya is attaining the highest level of democracy,” he said.

He furthered,” I want to thank the President for empowering this institution with the required resources to make it make proper determinations that are acceptable and that will go down as milestones of this country.”

Wajackoya becomes the second candidate to be cleared to contest for presidency after Walter Mong’are of the Umoja Summit Party.
