French side Paris Saint Germain have been linked with a move to appoint AS Roma’s head coach Jose Mourinho for next season.
PSG CEO, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has been reported to be looking to part ways with the current boss in charge, Christopher Galtier, after failing to secure a champions league for the club.
PSG were eliminated in the round of 16 of the champions league by Bayern Munich, on an aggregate score of 3-0.
As Foot Mercato now reports, PSG owners are under pressure to appoint a new manager that will lead them to the champions league glory, and the internal feeling is that Jose Mourinho is the right man for the job.
The 60-year-old has done a fantastic job at Roma, securing a Europa League semi final spot this season.
The Portuguese also led the Italian outfits to their first European glory in the history of the club, after winning the UEFA Conference League, beating Feyenoord 1-0 in the final.
None the less, Jose Mourinho and AS Roma are in a pole position to secure next season’s champions league spot, with the Giallorossis seating on the seventh spot of the Serie A table, just two points behind the top four.
However, The French outlet, Foot Mercato, has clarified that Jose Mourinho’s appointment at PSG is not yet a guarantee, but first time contacts have already taken place between the two parties.
PSG’s potential hiring of Jose Mourinho is reported to be strictly on the Portuguese winning the champions league or face the axe as Foot Mercato reports.
