Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has reiterated his stand against subsidising cost of goods by the government.

According to Mudavady, subsidizing products should never be adopted by any government as it is too expensive.

He says the solution to the high cost of living is to tame inflation.

We should not be a nation that thrive on subsidies

Mudavadi

Mudavadi spoke when he faced the vetting panel of National Assembly Committee of Appointment chaired by Speaker Moses Wetangula.

“We should not be a nation that thrive on subsidies,” said Mudavadi.

Mudavadi subsidies are supposed to be short term solutions.

He said the key to solving the problem of economy is by taming the inflammation.

Through this, he said subsidies would have no place as the country will be able to stand on its own.

His sentiments come amid skyrocketing prices of food items across the country.
