Kisumu Senator Fred Outa now says his decision not to defend his seat in the August polls was a move to send Governor Nyong’o packing.

Speaking during the launch of Kisumu gubernatorial candidate Jack Raguma on Friday, Outa said he is back to make sure the incumbent loses.

Outa endorsed former Governor Jack Ranguma’s candidature as affirmed residents of a sure win in the polls.

“I will make sure Nyong’o doesn’t become the next Governor the same way I made him win in 2017,” said Outa.

Political Break

Barely a month ago the former Nyando MP took leave off politics to venture into rice farming within Ahero Irrigation Scheme.

Outa announced he will not be defending his seat but has venture into agriculture and assist young people to produce the right seeds for rice farmers.

This came after the preferred candidate from his team christened ‘unbwogable’ led by former EAC Chief Administrative Officer Ken Obura, for Kisumu County Speaker Onyango Oloo and Ranguma missed the ODM party ticket.

Nyong’o was handed a direct ticket by the carry the ODM flag in the Kisumu gubernatorial race.

Outa who has now endorsed Ranguma’s candidature also cited the need to safe guard the county’s assests rather than leasing them.

“If we don’t safe guard our assets we will continue losing the economics of the county,” said Outa.

Ranguma will be for seeking a second term in office to become Kisumu’s third governor.
