Deputy President William Ruto was an emotional man during the funeral mass of the late Former President Mwai Kibaki.

Ruto paid a heart warming tribute, revealing deep admiration for the country’s third president.

In his speech at the Nyayo Stadium, Ruto said Kibaki had a rich legacy which would require a separate book while capturing the country’s history.

He said a chapter in such a history book would not be enough, terming Kibaki as Kenya’s greatest president.

He sowed the seeds and lay the foundation upon which our fourth president (Uhuru Kenyatta) built the expansive, extensive and elaborate infrastructure that we see today in our country

He said Kibaki was the finest economist the country ever had, a distinguished public servant and the greatest president the country ever had.

“Kibaki and his history is the history of Kenya”, Ruto said.

The Deputy President further acknowledged the late Kibaki for laying firm foundations in infrastructure development, education and that Kibaki was an architect of Kenya’s economy and independence.

He also lauded the current president Uhuru Kenyatta as being Kibaki’s good student.

“He sowed the seeds and lay the foundation upon which our fourth president (Uhuru Kenyatta) built the expansive, extensive and elaborate infrastructure that we see today in our country,” said Ruto.
