Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused his ODM counterpart Raila Odinga of breaching an agreement the two had in 2017.

In a loaded press statement, Mr Kalonzo claims that Raila was set to support his 2022 presidential bid whether NASA took power in 2017 or not.

The former Vice President for the first time revealed the content of the agreement between him and Raila, quoting it as the biggest hindrance to their 2022 Azimio talks.

He says he has been criticized for his indecisive moves in sealing a coalition pact with the Azimio team, and it was time to clear the air.

The NASA agreement

According to Kalonzo, the April 30, 2017 NASA agreement under the depository of Law Scholar Professor Makau Mutua continue to gather dust.

“It is imperative to mention that I have tried twice to have Prof Mutua convene a meeting between me and my brother Raila, on his part, Professor Makau stands in breach of his obligation on this agreement as he has since joined Raila’s campaign team,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo said Raila ought to have rejected the nominations, and abide by the terms of the 2017 NASA agreement and its terms, and stand out as a democratic hero, instead of coming out as defiant, and compounding the trust deficit.

“By accepting the nomination of the Orange Democratic Movement to run as president for the fifth time, I believe my brother Raila Odinga has committed an irreparable material breach of this agreement.”

He however says he is ready to work with Raila again, but the 2017 document remains as the basis of the negotiations.
