Migori detectives launch manhunt for man who stabbed police officer in a pub

Detectives in Kuria West, Migori County have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a senior police officer inside a local entertainment joint.

The incident occurred when the police officer made his way to the pub after being informed that the suspect had been seen with a knife.

According to Kuria West Sub-County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the officer-in-charge who is in charge of Masaba Police Post attempted to disarm the man before he reached for his knife and stabbed him.

The officer sustained serious injuries in his right upper thigh and was rushed to Masaba Medical Centre.

The suspect is now on the run as detectives appeal for information from the public that would lead to his arrest.

The officer has since been discharged from the hospital.
