Zipline has scooped the 2022 best drone service provider in the whole world.

Drone Industry Insights (DII) ranked Zipline first among top 4 drone service providers globally for best delivery service and undisputed leadership in the drone market.

DDI is a Germany-based drone market intelligence tracking company, and a global source for data on commercial drones.

DDI highlights how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are scaling up drone operations and optimizing efficiency while adhering to local and international drone operating standards.

This is not the first time the company is gaining recognition as an important leader in the drone market industry.

In 2021, an analysis of the service performance of 750 drone companies listed Zipline above Wing and Matternet as the best service provider in drone operations.

The company’s leadership growth in the drone market has been steady after it began operations in the US for its instant delivery service.

Growth in Africa

In Africa, where Zipline has built the largest drone operating hub, there have been improvements in logistics transport.

Initially, the company’s work was to deliver blood and essential medical supplies to rural parts of developing countries in Africa.

However, the preference for accelerated commercial deliveries has prompted a new growth plan for the company that includes retail delivery.

Recent partnerships with e-commerce giants Walmart and Jumia for commercial-product delivery establish this new interest.

This new growth strategy is projected to offer Zipline competitive growth in the market of operations and further stretch its dominance in the industry.

Zipline has flown more than 32 million miles and delivered nearly 4.4 million products and over 450,000 commercial deliveries.

This surpassed its fierce competitor, Wing, for the number of drone deliveries made.

Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) Counties are set to benefit from services from a world-leading drone service provider company, Zipline.

In February this year, Zipline signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the County Government of Kisumu.

The agreement gives way to the establishment and operation of a Zipline distribution hub in Kisumu County.

The county will also act as the base of operations for the Zipline Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and the Zipline services across the 16 LREB Counties
