This is after the telecommunication company introduced an expiry date for bonga points in a bid to encourage redemption.

Safaricom said the three year expiry date programme which will start in January 2023 is aimed at unlocking the underlying revenue which has accumulated over the years.

Currently unreedemed points stands at Sh 4.5 billion up from Sh 2.2 billion recorded during the same period in 2015.
