Push for Covid-19 jab now targets places of worship

The campaigns for vaccination against Coronavirus in Homa Bay County is now targeted at places of worship.

Through the Inter-Religious of Kenya ( IRCK), religious leaders now want their followers to take the jab.

In collaboration with UNICEF, they launched launched ‘Pata Chanjo na Ulinde Uwapendao’ campaign at Adiedo Central SDA Church in Karachuonyo Constituency, last week.

The campaign aims at increasing Coronavirus vaccine uptake in the region.

Homa Bay IRCK Coordinator Samuel Kemei said; “We want to vaccinate 50,000 people within a period of two weeks in order to eliminate COVID-19 cases in our society.”

The campaign targets people aged 12 and above.

Pastor Lewis Ondiek of Kenya Lake Conference said this is the only way to win the battle against the pandemic.

“We have no alternative of surviving except when we get vaccinated,” he said.
