Awendo parliamentary candidate Bishop Peter Midodo has bashed area MP for offering him State House Chaplaincy job.

Midodo told MP Walter Owino to keep the job for himself.

Owino who is defending his seat had in his campaign rallies claimed that he had secured the Bishop the State House Chaplaincy job.

“I heard Owino say that he has secured a job for me and even assigned for me a timetable that I will go and pray there twice a week,” said the Bishop.

He added: “He even said that I am going to earn a salary equivalent to a six-month salary. I am telling him I am not looking for a job or food.”

He said his interest is to rescue the people of Awendo from poverty.

It is time for clergy

The Bishop who has coined a slogan “heaven has spoken” stated that it is time for the men of God to take the leadership helm.

The clergy cited that political violence witnessed in Kenya during election periods is because of wrong people occupying the right offices.

“The reason why we see election violence is because those leading have a negative influence on people. Give that to the righteous ones and you will see the change,” he remarked.

“Raila’s presidency should not be a question, we support it 100 percent. It is only the party cartels who denied us nomination that pushed us to go independent”

“Our God is a political God, let the clergy come out and contest for these political seats,” said Midodo.

Midodo is contesting as an independent candidate after he ditched the ODM party when the incumbent was awarded direct ticket.

The man of God however drummed support for ODM and Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.

“Raila’s presidency should not be a question, we support it 100 percent. It is only the party cartels who denied us nomination that pushed us to go independent,” he said.
