Alchemist bar has been shut down.

This is after causing a stir among Kenyans over the recent allegations of racial segregation.

A video footage shared on Twitter shows a Kenyan being blocked from the door reserved for whites and Indians.

The bar management issued an apology after the incident, claiming it is still committed to serving people of all races with its good food, fashion, and music.

To anyone that felt aggrieved, we sincerely apologize and we look forward to sitting down together and addressing these issues head-on

“To anyone that felt aggrieved, we sincerely apologize and we look forward to sitting down together and addressing these issues head-on,” the apology statement read in part.

The Nairobi-based bar known for its cocktail and fashion then confirmed that Nairobi City County had visited them and they were being investigated for the incident.

Through the statement, the bar confirmed that they are going to review the event that happened that night to determine if the guest were denied entry and if there was a policy that was put separating the line for guests.

Investigations

The Nairobi county government will also sit down with the people in charge of the bar and determine if there has ever been a policy of discrimination.

They also said they’ll take action and recommendations should occur.

The black man who joined the reserved line was seen getting in line and was immediately told to move out of the line by the bouncer and get back to the other line reserved for blacks.

The bar, later on, apologized for what accrued and assured people that it would change its service.

The management however said that there is only one main entrance to the venue that the customers who are entering must go through.

The bar will be reopened when the investigations are completed
