Police in Migori County are hunting for three men who allegedly attacked a bar manager at his premises on Thursday night.

The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) said that Oscar Omondi, 28, the manager of Azimio bar in Karangi was attacked by three revelers as he was about to close the bar.

According to the DCI, Omondi was attacked for allegedly preventing the trio from leaving the entertainment joint with a new waitress.

Omondi, who was concerned with the high turnover of waitresses at his place of work who had eloped with revelers, was determined not to let the current one go. However, he didn’t know that the three were armed with machetes, knives and other crude weapons

“He was attacked after he prevented the revelers from leaving for the night with a newly employed bar waitress,” read the post.

Throughout the night Omondi, noticed the revelers making advances towards the bar attendant as she served revelers at the pub.

On finishing the drinks an hour before closing time, the suspects decided to stick around to convince the bar attendant to leave with them.

Omondi however intervened and warned them not to leave with the 22 year old waitress following the high turnover of waitresses at his place of work because many of them had eloped with revelers.

“Omondi, who was concerned with the high turnover of waitresses at his place of work who had eloped with revelers, was determined not to let the current one go,” DCI noted in a Twitter post.

It went on: “However, he didn’t know that the three were armed with machetes, knives and other crude weapons.”

The trio descended on the bar manager with machetes, knives and clubs before breaking into the counter and walking away with an unknown amount of money.

Detectives in Migori are currently pursuing the three suspects who are said to be well known by the locals.

Omondi is currently nursing injuries at a Migori hospital.
