Azimio ndio wametufukuza, says Alfred Mutua as he joins Ruto

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has ditched Raila Odinga’s Azimio Coalition.

Dr Mutua on Monday announced that he had officially joined William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Addressing the press in Nairobi, Dr Mutua said his Maendeleo Chap Chap Party felt unwanted in Azimio.

He cited the lack of consultation in the coalition, which has made them feel underdogs.

We suspect mischief. Why are they hiding the document (coalition agreement) from us? There must be something not right in it

He said the party has been excluded in a number of decisions made by Azimio, which has been turned into a club of few people.

“We suspect mischief. Why are they hiding the document (coalition agreement) from us? There must be something not right in it,” he said.

Zoning

Mutua said his party was also against the proposed zoning during the upcoming August 9, elections.

He noted that at least five parties have withdrawn from the coalition, and joined Kenya Kwanza.

“We are supporting Kenya Kwanza, and there will be zero zoning, and all out aspirants will be on the ballot,” said Mutua.

Mutua said the big boys in the Azimio team have a game plan for themselves, and not Kenyans.

Best President

He said Ruto is the best person to deliver the country out of economic inequalities.

“We cannot continue to be a country of a few people who are millionaires and the rest of us in abject poverty,” Mutua said.

If Kenyans want to see transformation, real change and not stories, then we bank on somebody that we know tutakaa nay eye

“If Kenyans want to see transformation, real change and not stories, then we bank on somebody that we know tutakaa na yeye,” he said.

Mutua said despite the negativity about Ruto, bordering on corruption, he will be there to provide the much needed oversight.

He said the party was already in court to sort out the aspects of exit clause to formalize its divorce with Azimio.

“No court in this country will hold you into an association that you do not want to be,” said Mutua.
