The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has received the green light from the Ministry of Education to use schools for their forthcoming party primaries next month.

In a letter addressed to the National Elections Board (NEB) Chair Catherine Muma, the Ministry allowed ODM to conduct nominations in learning institutions that are already gazetted by IEBC as polling stations.

“The purpose of this communication is to inform you that permission is hereby granted to the ODM party to conduct the exercise in public primary schools” read part the letter in part.

The ministry has however asked ODM to liaise with various headteachers of the schools to ensure there is security of the schools property during the exercise.

Muma had written to the ministry on March 15, seeking the nod to carry out its party nominations that were scheduled to run between March 21, through to April 22.
