According to the organization representatve Jared Okoth, their focus will be in the county assemblies as they play a pivotal role in the continuous success or failures of devolution.

“We realised that the county assembly leadership is very vital in protecting devolution and particularly in meeting the set targets that the devolution was meant to achieve,” he said.

The Debates

The debates will run through 35 wards across the county as they educate the electorates as well as engage their leaders to enable them make the right choices.

“We will move to all the 35 wards of Kisumu County and we envisage that through this noble course, electorates will eventually put in the right individuals in leadership,” said Okoth.

The launch of the program brought together 11 aspirants eyeing the Nyalenda B MCA seat and each one of them was engaged by the electorates.

According to the residents, the platform provided them with an opportunity to present their grievances and know the capability of their leaders.

“Today we have known those who can present our grievances to the county government and have issues resolved,” said Francis Onyango.

The debates will run through to July with their next destination being Nyakach, Seme and Muhoroni respectively.
