One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has finally made the decision to join Azimio La Umoja movement.

In a statement issued on Friday read by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, OKA principals confirmed their decision to join ODM and Jubilee parties in the Azimo la Umoja coalition.

“The One Kenya Alliance wishes to inform Kenyans that it has officially initiated open and structured dialogue with like-minded political formations, namely the Jubilee Coalition and the ODM Party,” Kalonzo said.

The Agreement

He further noted that they already have an agreement that will see equality in all the parties involved.

“We are open to the formation of a Grand Coalition to be known as the Azimio – One Kenya Alliance that shall be anchored on three equal pillars.”

Kalonzo further noted that the principles arrived at the decision to support Azimio since both parties share similar ideologies and plans for the nation.

“As OKA, we firmly believe in an open, honest, and structured dialogue whose basis is the promotion of national unity; upholding and respecting the dignity of all Kenyans; ending the culture of corruption and impunity, and restoring the decency of living within our borders,” he added.

Official Launch

This decision comes just hours after ODM and Jubilee parties endorsed Raila Odinga as their preferred candidate in the August general election.

OKA further revealed that the official documentation of the agreement will be done on Monday, February 28 after which the agreement will be presented to the registrar of political parties.

The Azimio la Umoja coalition will be officially launched on Saturday at Kasarani Stadium.
