Former Energy and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter is 100 per cent sure of winning Kericho gubernatorial position on August 9.

Mr Keter who quit CS job last week to concentrate on the gubernatorial race has said he has never lost any election and he is sure he will be Kericho Governor on August 9.

Speaking during an interview in a local television station, Mr Keter said he became the first Belgut Member of Parliament to be re-elected from the first election in the constituency in 1963.

He noted that in 2002, he faced electorates in Belgut Constituency, winning in his first attempt, and repeating the same five years later.

He also noted that he became Kericho County’s first Senator in his first attempt.

“I am going into this election knowing very well that I have worthy competitors, and I believe with my experience in the government, I will emerge victorious,” said Keter.

Keter also noted that his confidence in winning the seat had nothing to do with his close association with Deputy President William Ruto, and that he would face the electorates as an individual.

“I am going into this election as Chares Keter. William Ruto is not an added advantage,” he noted.
