Date:

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Jubilee Parties may be pnanning for an earthquake.

Both parties have set their National Delegates Conferences (NDCs) on February 25, and 26,even though they have not indicated that they will do it jointly.

The Orange party made the announcement through its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on Friday, just a day after Jubilee’s Raphael Tuju announced the dates for the party’s NDC.

“Pursuant to Article 7.2 as read together with article 7.5.3 (d) of the Orange Democratic Movement constitution, a National Delegate Convention shall be held on the 25th and 26th February 2022 at the Nyayo National Stadium from 9.00 am,” read the statement.

This follows the party leader’s endorsement by the Azimio la Umoja movement on December 10, 2021 as the presidential candidate in the August polls.

According to Sifuna the party would review the conference agenda and confirm the minutes of the NDC held on March 17, 2017 at Kasarani where Raila was endorsed at the presidential candidate.

With Jubilee Party previously indicating that it will not field a Presidential candidate on August 9, but will instead support Raila’s bid, it is not clear if this will be made official during the forthcoming NDCs.
