Brazilian football player Marcelo Vieira has returned to his first club Fluminense.
The left-back has signed a two-year contract after being away for 16 years.
The former Real Madrid player started both his youth and professional career at Fluminense.
I already knew that I wasn’t going to stay, and that my fantastic time at Real Madrid was coming to an end
Marcelo
The Legend
He made a switch from the Brazilian side to Madrid back in 2007 where he made 546 appearances during 15 seasons for the Spanish champions.
It’s also notable that while at Madrid he won a total of 25 trophies, 6 LaLiga titles, 5 champions leagues, 2 Copas del Rey,5 Spanish Supercopas,3 UEFA Super Cups and 4 Club World Cups.
What a legend?
“I already knew that I wasn’t going to stay, and that my fantastic time at Real Madrid was coming to an end,” he said.
Last dance
He went ahead to state, “And I started to cry, crying without being able to stop, and I said to myself: What are you doing? You’ve got to start walking. And I couldn’t.”
I lost the strength in my legs. I crouched down, I thought, I cried. I said, “This can’t be happening.”
I think that’s where I realised, in that moment, that my time at Real Madrid had ended. Right there. I hadn’t, before that moment”, he told ESPN media
We wish you all the best MARCELO.
