Kakamega hosts Western/Nyanza 2023 hoteliers’ refresher training

Hoteliers across Nyanza and Western region are set to undergo refresher courses in a bid to revive the industry in the region.

Kakamega Tourism and Hospitality Chairman Rev. William Owuya said the training will help re-evaluate competence of hotels in the country.

Speaking to Lake Region Bulletin Owuya said the training will also involve Hotels undergoing rigorous assessment to certify their competence.

“Apart from several physical visits within and outside the country with an intention of marketing we are also looking for partnerships,” he said.

Besides training Hotel operators will also be equipped with skills in public relations so as to be able to handle their customers in a professional manner.

He further said that they will also partner with various partnerships with other stakeholders.

He indicated that the training had been designed to ensure that hoteliers observe rules as way to maintain their customers.

Owuya further noted that the industry is slowly picking up years after being disrupted by the COVID 19, pandemic.

“There is a revival in the hotel industry after a long struggle with covid 19 pandemic,” he added.

The two weeks training will start from 27th March to 6th April.
