Kisumu residents have been asked to prepare for a possible interruption of water supply.
In a notice to the clients, the water supplier KIWASCO said that they are experiencing water shortage due to the prolonged drought.
The plant which draws water from River Kibos says the water levels have reduced and the company is currently operating below it’s production capacity.

In a statement to the customers, Kiwasco asked the residents to store enough water to serve them during the drought period.
“Help us to conserve available supply by minimizing wastages and using water sparingly also remember to store enough water during this period,” read the statement in part.
“Consequently our esteemed customers cannot be supplied adequately,” it furthered.
The areas set to be affected include; Kanyamedha, Kibos, Otonglo, Tieng’re, Uzima, Lolwe, Migosi, Mamboleo, Guba, Gita, Wathorego, Chiga, parts of Manyatta and adjacent areas.
