Police recover bullet that killed Ida Odinga bodyguard

Police in Kisumu have launched investigations into the cold blood murder of bodyguard to Ida Odinga.

Police Corporal Barrack Otieno Oduor was shot on the head and leg shortly after leaving a night club.

According to police report, Oduor had left a popular night club in Kondele, accompanied by a female and male friend.

Upon reaching Victoria Gardens Estate where the female friend lived, a manager of a different night club showed up, and accosted Oduor and his friends.

The Scene was processed and body transferred to Star Hospital Mortuary. A spent cartridge and bullet head of 9mm were recovered at the scene

The suspect disposed Oduor of his gun, shot him twice; in the head and leg, while the male friend was shot in the leg.

The suspect in the Friday morning incident is said to have escaped with the killer firearm.

“Scene was visited by DCI Kisumu Central, Deputy SCPC Kisumu Central, CSI personnel and Duty Officer Kisumu Central,” read in part police report.

“The Scene was processed and body transferred to Star Hospital Mortuary. A spent cartridge and bullet head of 9mm were recovered at the scene.”
