Raila Odinga submits 39 boxes with exhibit to challenge Ruto’s win

Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga and his legal team has arrived at the Milimani Law Courts to file a petition challenging DP William Ruto’s win.

The team arrived with 39 boxes as exhibits moments before 2pm in line with the Supreme Court rules which dictate that if a petition is submitted on the last day of filing, then it should be done before 2 pm on the said day.

Azimio lawyer Daniel Maanzo however said that the team had earlier already filed an electronic copy of the presidential petition.

IEBC will have four days to file their replies to the court.

Legal Minds

Senior Counsels James Orengo, Otiende Amollo, Philip Murgor, Prof Tom Ojienda, Pheroze Norwojee, Mutula Kilonzo and Dan Maanzo will be respresenting Azimio in the case.

IEBC Lawyers will include former Attorney-General Githu Muigai, Senior Counsel Abdikadir Mohamed, Kamau Karori, Eric Gumbo, Peter Wanyama, and Edwin Mukele

Fred Ngatia, Adrian Kamotho, Kithure Kindiki, Nelson Havi and Collins Kiprono will be seeking to defend Ruto’s win.

The seven-judge bench led by Chief Justice Martha Koome will have until September 4, to deliver its ruling on the presidential petition.
