For a man who says Sh7 billion is only, your guess is as good as mine. It was in the billions

He did not however disclose how much Ruto was paid, nor who contributed the money.

“For a man who says Sh7 billion is only, your guess is as good as mine. It was in the billions,” said Tuju.

“It is ten years to election, and Kenyans must know the truth,” said Tuju when put to task on the timing of his revelations.

Huge price

Tuju is now the Executive Director of Azimio Presidential Secretariat.

According to Tuju, Ruto had claimed that he needed the money to enable him facilitate swaying his support base to vote for Uhuru.

On top of this, Tuju said Ruto was awarded a number of plum ministerial positions.

The moment the handshake (with Raila) took place, many of us in government breathed a sigh of relief, as previous to that, he was always blackmailing the President

Tuju claimed that despite the huge price, Ruto went ahead to blackmail President Uhuru throughout their term.

“The moment the handshake (with Raila) took place, many of us in government breathed a sigh of relief, as previous to that, he was always blackmailing the President,” said Tuju.

He claimed that Ruto was able to execute his blackmail as he had control of the National Assembly and Senate through the speakers, as well as the Majority Leaders.

“The two Speakers are now in UDA,” he added.

“Talking about Ruto leading this country is a disaster,” he said.

“This is not an election about manifestos, but about the character of the person we are dealing with,” said Tuju.

He said these frustrations led President Uhuru to work with Raila who demanded nothing for his support in Parliament.
