Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda was on Saturday denied access to Governor Nyong’o campaign launch at Kirembe Grounds in Kisumu.

Nyong’o organised the rally after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared him to defend his seat in the August polls.

Present at the rally were Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Nyakach MP Aduma Awuor, Kisumu Woman Representative Rosa Buyu, Seme MP James Nyikal , several MCAs among other.

Access Denied

Ouda got to the venue with several supporters demanding to access the main dais.

Chaos erupted as Ouda was denied access to the podium.

Police lobbied teargas to disperse the crowd which was already attacking the lawmaker.

Ouda who is seeking for a second term in office, was ferried from the venue in police vehicle after being rescued from the mob.

The first time MP will be battling against business man Joshua Oron among others on independent party ticket.

Ouda lost to Oron in the ODM party primaries.
