Nandi Muslim Community calls for peace ahead of polls

Nandi County Muslim community has called on both politicians and voters across the country to maintain peace during the electioneering period.

Speaking to Lake Region Bulletin, Nandi County Imam Abubakar Sadala cited the need for Kenyans embrace harmony ahead of the polls.

Campaigns during this period must be conducted without hate. Leaders must desist from using hate speeches to incite the citizens against one another

Abubakar called on the aspirants to conduct peaceful campaigns.

He further urged the leaders to desist from hate speech and using words which could propel violence.

“Campaigns during this period must be conducted without hate. Leaders must desist from using hate speeches to incite the citizens against one another,” he said.

Abubakar also lauded IEBC for conducting a smooth clearance process urging them to conduct credible elections.

He also noted that they will be conducting prayer sessions for leaders and the nation.
