A lobby group has urged residents of Kisumu to embrace environmental conservation in order to increase food production in the area.

Nyando Development Centre for Environmental Conservation (NYADEC) now says the community is losing soil as a result of galley erosion which in turn affects food production.

Speaking during the 4th Annual International Multi-Disciplinary Conference in Kisumu, NYADEC Secretary Robert Oketch noted that soil conservation will allow farmers to embrace organic food production.
