Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has asked Form One girls to practice self-control.
Magoha warned the girls against submitting to peer pressure which would lead them to early sex, and losing focus in academics.
“You must control your hormones. If someone tells you that you are beautiful, tell them God is more beautiful,” he said.
Magoha spoke in Kisumu Girls’ High School where she was assessing the ongoing Form One admission.

He told the girls that discipline is the foundation of success, and that the girls must choose the right and wrong.
“Where you go is up to you. As you start this new life, know that whatever will happen to you is dependent on yourself,” said Magoha.
He added: “You are coming as clean as Ceaser’s wife. Some few of you will take the wrong path, and become nothing.”
100% transition
Magoha noted that schools are yet to achieve the 100 per cent transition, and that the government will on Monday launch a mop up.
Kisumu Girls’ School recorded 75 per cent admission by end of week one.
Magoha challenged school heads not to deny children admission due to lack of school fees or uniforms.
He also ordered school heads not to effect any transfers, saying students must report to schools where they were admitted, unless there are special cases such as medical.
If you are a middle class and you are not happy with where your child has been admitted, please take your child to a private school and pay fees for them.

“Every Kenyan school is well funded the same level. What will determine the child’s performance is the child’s self-drive,” he said.
Magoha pointed out that the middle class were the most troublesome, trying to get their children different schools from the ones they have been admitted to.
“Stop keeping the children home, thinking that they are going to get different schools,” said Magoha.
“If you are a middle class and you are not happy with where your child has been admitted, please take your child to a private school and pay fees for them.”
He also called on heads to ensure registration of candidates in Grade Six, Standard Eight and Form Four
