A family in Migori County is in distraught.
Their kin, an employee at Migori County Department of Water and Energy has been allegedly abducted.
Patrick Fred Lumumba is said to have been missing for the past five days.
Lumumba was last seen on the evening of Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Soko Mjinga in Migori town before he was allegedly abducted by unknown men.
According to witness, four unknown men in a pro-box car picked Mr Lumumba while posing as police officers.

The men handcuffed him, while accusing him of using a government motorcycle inappropriately.
At the time of his abduction, Mr Lumumba was in a possession of a Government of Kenya (GK) registered motorcycle.
Traumatized family
Lumumba’s wife, Sylvia said that the husband had left home after lunch hour, and headed to a garage at Soko Mjinga where he was abducted.
“My husband has never told me about any quarrel he had with anybody. Therefore I cannot accuse anybody or suspect anyone,” she said.
She said the abduction of her husband has left her in confusion and great misery as he was the sole breadwinner for the family.
“I have a daughter who should be joining form one but due to the trauma, she is still at home. We want Mr Lumumba back home,” she said.
Brian Onyango, Lumumba’s son said that on May 2, someone called one of their family members using their father’s phone, demanding a sum of Sh1 million to have the father released.
Hardworking employee
Water Chief Officer Fidelis Majiwa said he last saw Lumumba on April 28.
He said he had no sign of distress.
He said the motorcycle that Lumuba was claimed to have been misusing had been issued by authorities to ease his movement as he was sometimes working odd hours.

Suna East Sub-county Police Commander Esau Ochorokodi confirmed that the case had been reported.
He said their attempts to trace him have not borne fruits, and that the victim’s phone has been switched off.
Lumumba was working as an electrical technician at the County Department of Water and Energy until the time of his disappearance.
The police are doing very minimal to help this case. The manner in which both the county government heads and the police are handling this matter leaves a lot to question.
