Just after receiving a go- ahead to fly Jubilee party ticket for Mathare constituency, singer Kevin Kioko popularly known as Bahati was on Monday in tears after making allegations that his nomination certificate has been recalled.

The ‘Machozi’ hitmaker claimed that he has been asked to step down from the Mathare constituency parliamentary race.

The singer alleged that his nomination certificate has been recalled to favor an ODM candidate since Mathare had been categorized as an ODM zone by the Azimio coalition.

Bahati asked the President Keyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga to intervene and give him a chance to contest for the August polls.

“I respect you my president, I respect Hon. Raila Odinga but please give the youth of this country a chance, I know there is zoning and Mathare has been zoned for as ODM area but for this one time give the youth of this country a chance, give the people of Mathare a chance to get a leader what they want,” said Bahati.

However the singer affirmed that he was not going to step down from the race.

“I made a made a decision that I am not backing down from the race. My name will be on the ballot on August 9th,” he said.

Bahati also noted his loyalty to the Jubilee and Amizio la Umoja coalition a reason for he says should be considered before he is asked to step down.

“I respect Raila and Uhuru Kenyatta. I am a big supporter of Azimio and Jubilee. I personally did over 555 stops campaigning for the president across the country. Please do not kill the hearts of the youths in Azimio,” pleaded Bahati.

The musician said he wants to serve the interest of the people to better their lives.

He also affirmed that he will continue supporting the Azimio la Umoja team.

Bahati hopes to un seat ODM’s Anthony Oluoch who is seeking a second term in office.
