Manchester United’s captain Harry Maguire has received bomb threats to his home.
The record signing defender was threatened by unknown people via his personal email, few hours after Erik Ten Hag’s appointment as United’s next manager.
The English skipper shares a home in Cheshire with his fiancé and their two young children,has been subjected to criticism by United’s fans and pundits who believe the skipper’s defensive mistakes are responsible for United’s poor performance.
According to the 29-years old spokesman, the Maguire reported the matter to Cheshire Police who have since conducted a sweep at his home with specialist explosive dogs and is home is now under strict surveillance.
No evacuations took place, but as a precautionary measure, a police explosives dog has attended the address this afternoon, Thursday 21st April, to conduct a search of the gardens and surrounding area

“ In the last 24 hours, Harry has received a serious threat to his family home,” said Maguire’s spokesperson.
“ He has reported this to the police who are now looking into the matter. The safety of his family and those around him is obviously Harry’s number one priority,” he furthered.
In a statement, Cheshire police also confirmed Maguire’s reports.
“On Wednesday 20th April, Cheshire police were called to reports of a bomb threat at an address in the Wilmslow area,” said the police in a statement.
“No evacuations took place, but as a precautionary measure, a police explosives dog has attended the address this afternoon, Thursday 21st April, to conduct a search of the gardens and surrounding area,” furthered the statement.
The spokesman however said that Maguire wil continue to prepare for United’s next match.
“He will continue to prepare for this weekend’s fixture as normal and we will not be commenting in any further detail at this time.”
Manchester United are due to take on the Gunners , Arsenal on Saturday 2:30pm, a fierce rivalry between the North Londoners and the Red Devils.
