The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced some of the most important dates ahead of August 9, general election.
The dates are statutory timelines that political parties and independent candidates that wish to participate on the August 9, general election ought to observe.
The dates include the deadline for parties to submit the list of the members certified by registrar of political parties by April 9.
This should also include the names of the aspirants, dates and venues of the nominations.
After conducting the political parties primary, IEBC expects each party to solve any dispute that might have rose during the period of primaries before April 22.
Those seeking presidency are required to collect statutory forms for purpose of collecting particulars of their support which they must submit it to the commission before May 23.

The parties are then expected to submit the names selected to contest in the general election to the commission before April 28.
Independent candidates are expected to submit to the commission a clearance certificate from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) by May 2.
The clearance confirms that they are not members of registered political party.
IEBC will then publish the names accompanied by political symbols in the Kenya Gazette on May 13.
