Peace ambassadors drawn from across the country have called for peace during the electioneering period.
Speaking during the celebration of Good Deeds Day in Kisumu on Tuesday, they called on residents to manage their expectations so as to avoid chaos during polls.
Good Deeds Day coordinator Frederick Sadia failure to manage one’s expectations may lead to agitation and violence.
“We know the elections are coming and we specifically came to Kisumu because we know their expectations during this elections is ripe,” he said.
“We also know Kisumu has had a bad history in the past because of the chaos,we are rallying everyone to promote peace,” he added.
The team also urged Kenyans to embrace giving and volunteering, saying it is a healthy behaviour.

According to Sadia, a baseline survey done in 2019 indicated that volunteering contributes 3.6 per cent of the country’s GDP.
He noted that they are working together with the state to develop an enabling infrastructure for volunteering.
Sadia further urged the community to embrace volunteering as a social behaviour.
“Volunteering should be done everywhere and by everybody,” said Sadia.
