Police in Nandi are holding a 58 year old man accused of beating his two sons to death.

Aldai sub-county OCPD Joh Owuoth said the man from Kapkorio village was nabbed while trying to flee to the western part of Kenya.

He said police wereon Monday informed of an incident in which a 16 year old boy was found lying dead in the kitchen.

The brother, 21-year-old was found with injuries and died while receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

The elder son was said to have been among the 2021 KCPE candidates who was waiting for his results.

Owuoth said were investigating the circumstances under which the man could have committed the heinous act.

According to villagers, the children had run away from home due to the abusive father.

“When he is drunk, that is when he harasses his children and wife which led to the wife running away,” said a neighbour.

The bodies were taken to Kapsabet Referal Hospital pending postmortem and investigation.
