Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond Platinumz has been on the trend for the last two days following the premier of Young, Famous and African series in which he is a cast.

Diamond in one of the shows scenes was asked his age by South African song writer Nadai Nakai.
In response he said he is 31st.

“How old are you? Why do you have to think about it? ” She asked.

“No I’m not thinking about it,I was just untying my button… I’m 31st,” he replied.

Kenyans on Twitter

Kenyans took to Twitter to express their opinions on Diamond’s English language ‘prowess’.

“Maybe he meant he’s in his 31st year on earth. But seriously, the guy knows Swahili more than most of us, but we are here making fun of him for not knowing English,” wrote @Awuor.

“The problem is not him not knowing English but him trying to act like he speaks American English to show people how cool he is,” said @AddaRessy.

However , others had the opinion that the precision was made to promote the show.
“But that 31st was scripted,” wrote @Shanki.

The show featured most of the famous African stars including Nigerian couple 2Baba and Annie from Nigeria, Macaulay-Idibia, rapper Nadia Nakai and business woman Zari Hassan, among others.
