United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party Chairman Johnstone Muthama has said Deputy President William Ruto will win August 9, polls with 65 per cent of the total votes.
Muthama who was speaking during the UDA National Delegates Conference said despite being a young party, UDA has shown its strength in the recent by-elections, an indication that it will perform excellently during the August polls.
Muthama said the NDC held on March 15, was just the beginning of the vote hunt exercise which will see Ruto become president.
He asked all UDA aspirants to have confidence in the party’s National Election Board which he said will conduct free and fair nominations.
“I know that we have a huge task ahead of us, and ours is to work knowing that we will form the next government after August 9,” said Muthama.
He asked the delegates to get to work, and preach the gospel of UDA so as to ensure that the party win as many seats as possible.
He poured praises on the DP, saying his hard work has seen the party grow to the stature of a 50 year old party despite being just one and half year old.
“We won in Kiambaa, Rurii, London Ward, and in the places we never won, we gave them a run for their money, and they have to be prepared for a brutal battle on August 9,” added Muthama.
