Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula has ditched Amani National Congress (ANC) FOR Democratic Action Party (DAP).

Savula who was before his defection the Deputy Party Leader for ANC Party announced that he will be joining DAP on the same capacity.

Savula said his move has been endorsed by family and political allies, and that he will be vying for Kakamega Gubernatorial seat on DAP party.

He was received by DAP-K party leadership together with other defectors at the party headquarters at Chui House, Nairobi.

“I have had meetings with my family and the people of Lugari who have endorsed this move,” he said.

Savula said he will use the new vehicle to carry on with the activities of the political parties in the Mulembe nation.

“We are glad to welcome ANC Deputy party leader and Lugari MP Hon. Ayub Savula officially to Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) at Chui house,” the party said in a statement.

Savula had earlier distanced himself from Mudavadi’s allies surging towards Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA party, and declared his support for Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja faction.

His defection comes a few hours to the much publicized ‘Earthquake’ announcement by ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi during the party’s National Delegates Conference in Nairobi on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
