This Image of two sweet potatoes shaking hands circulated on social media is FAKE.

The attached photo shows four ladies inside a sweet potato farm holding two potatoes shaking hands with others standing far behind clapping .

The text accompanying the photos reads, “A misterious sweet potato has been uprooted in Ndhiwa..Homabay county.”

However, the images are not authentic. The images circulating online were created using artificial intelligence (AI), as revealed by the Fake Image Detector tool.

A google reverse Image search further shows that similar images of different sweet potatos with human craftings are shared across several social media platforms.

Additionally, a look into the purported picture shows similar resemblance of the four ladies holding the sweet potato despite having different coloured shirts.

Lake Region has looked into a Facebook post with several images of people holding sweet potatoe shakings hands and finds it to be FAKE.
