A letter circulating on social media claiming that Nasib Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platinumz, apologized to Kenyans over failure to perform at the much hyped Furaha City Festival is FAKE.

The letter, supposedly written by Diamond, is titled: “RE: APOLOGIZING FOR NOT PERFORMING AT FURAHA CITY FESTIVAL AND INSULTING WILLY PAUL.”
The content of the letter reads:
“I am taking this opportunity to apologize for what happened on 7 December. I want to apologize for Kenyans and, on behalf of all Tanzanians and the worldwide, to express my. Please, with all and due respect, let us regain our unity as East Africa and a world in total. Let’s love and support each other.
Thank you all.”

The letter allegedly signed by Diamond as seen on the screengrab of the alleged letter below

Diamond was scheduled to perform at the Furaha City Festival on December 7, 2024 alongside artists; Zuchu, Willy Paul, and others from East Africa.

However, Diamond failed to perform, attracting social media rage, with claims that the difference between Kenyan star Willy Paul and Diamond could have been the reason behind Diamond’s failure to perform.

The organizers of the event however released a statement on the incident citing numerous demands made by the lead artist of the event, demands which the organizers termed regrettable and unnecessarily overbearing.

VERIFICATION
Was this truly an apology letter from Diamond?

A quick examination reveals that the letter, purportedly posted by Diamond Platnumz on his Instagram page, is nowhere to be found on the artist’s profile.

To verify further, Lake Region Bulletin conducted a thorough check of all his social media accounts, but found no evidence of such a post.

Taking the investigation a step further, the Lake Region Bulletin team contacted Diamond’s management for clarification. Babu Tale, one of Diamond’s managers, confirmed via email that the letter in question is fake. A screengrab of the email response is provided below for reference.

The grammar used in the letter does not reflect the artist’s stature. Diamond Platnumz is a well-traveled and versatile artist with a diverse management team, but the language in the letter suggests otherwise.

Furthermore, the letter in question was allegedly written and signed by Diamond himself. However, as an international artist, Diamond has a dedicated management team to handle such matters through his music label WCB Wasafi which has been handling his events. The fact that the letter is signed by Diamond himself raises the possibility that the letter may have originated elsewhere, rather than from Diamond or his management team.

A quick online search of Wasafi WCB Classic shows the address as 210 Block J, Kanisani Road, Dar es Salaam 55087, Tanzania, as opposed to the address of the alleged letter which shows Tandale Dar Es Salaam, P.O. BOX 14110 Kindondoni.

Tandale is Diamond’s rural home which is situated about ten kilometres from Tanzania Capital City Dar Es Salaam.

Wikipedia search shows that Tandale is an administrative ward in Kinondoni District, one of the districts in Dar Es Salaam, and not Kindondoni as spelt in the alleged letter.

VERDICT

The lake region established that the apology letter under our scrutiny which is purportedly from Diamond was Fake.
