I take this opportunity to thank all members of staff and students for their patience and calmness as we went through the difficult times

Prof Okemo

Prof Wainaina’s return was confirmed by Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof Paul Okemo.

“Prof Wainaina is reporting back today at 10am, and members of staff are encouraged to be at the main gate to welcome him,” read a memo by Prof Okemo.

Calmness at the institution

He thanked the staff and students for their calmness as they went through the difficult times.

“I take this opportunity to thank all members of staff and students for their patience and calmness as we went through the difficult times,” the memo went on.

Prof Wainaina has unceremoniously been suspended by the university council following leadership raw.

His troubles begun early this year when he opposed the curving off of the university land for the establishment of an international research centre.
