Former Ainakaboi MP William Chepkut is dead

Former Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut is dead. 

The former legislator died on Saturday, October 8, 2022.

According to his family the legislator collapsed at his home and was rushed to a hospital in Nairobi for emergency treatment. 

The doctors pronounced him dead on arrival at a facility in Parklands.

One term

Chepkut served as MP from 2017-2022 but lost the seat to UDA’s Samuel Chepkong’a in the August polls.

The incumbent garnered over 26,000 votes compared to Chepkut13,000 votes.

In July 2021, Chepkut was hospitalised for two months after he fell inside a city hotel.

He also suffered two accidents around the same time.

“I fainted and was rushed to the hospital, where I received treatment and was discharged,” he said in a past interview.

He went ahead to state, “Around the same time, I suffered two other accidents that totally affected me.”

Last Tweet

The deceased made his last tweet yesterday, while congratulating Transport CS nominee Kipchumba Murkomen and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.

“God’s case is final. Congrats waziri and the new majority leader,” he tweeted.
