Arsenal have been reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old Kenyan center back Joseph Okumu.

The young star who plays for Belgian soccer club KAA Gent is on a move this summer and premier league could be his next stop.

Okumu who has had an impressive spell during the 2021/2022 Belgian topflight league could now oversee continuing his career in Europe’s top leagues.

The Deals

Both Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Celtic have all established their interest on the Kenyan national.

The German side has already made contacts with the 24-year-old’s representatives while Celtic and Arsenal have also had informal talks about him.

Arsenal have already signed Ben White, Rob Holding, William Saliva and Gabriel Magalhaes as their first team defensive options and if Mikel Arteta to rotate between his players Okumu might join the Gunners.

Borussia Dortmund on the other side have already signed Niklas Sule as a free agent from Bayern Munich and are set to partner him with Nico Schlotterbeck as first team center backs for next season.

The skipper joined Gent last year for a transfer fee of £ 3.2Milliom from Sweden club IF Elfsborg.

Okumu might now be the second Kenyan to have ever played in the premier league, after Victor Wanyama, who played for Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
