Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has told Azimio coalition political parties to field candidates anywhere across the country.

The lawmaker said that the Azimio coalition will not deter any of its members from fielding candidates.

He however insisted that it will be upon each party to campaign for their candidates.

“We have not obstructed any party from fielding any candidate from any part of the country as Azimio coalition,” stated the legislator.

“It will be upon every party to campaign for their candidate and that is the position of the ODM party,” he added.

Junet stated that political parties are formed to capture power from the legislative houses at the the national to county levels.

Junet was speaking at Migori County IEBC headquarters where he received his clearance certificate to defend his seat.

Race for presidency

He however stressed that as a coalition, their main aim is to clinch the presidency as they only have one presidential candidate, Raila Odinga.

“At the presidential level, we are campaigning as a coalition and we only have one presidential candidate,” he said.

According to Junet, both internal and external polls indicate Azimio winning by landslide.

“We have traversed the entire country and we can see the ground now is ripe for Raila Odinga’s presidency. We are going to get 60 plus one percent votes in August,” he said.

Junet also confirmed that the Azimio brigade is expected to tour the Nyanza region from June 13 to 19 led by Raila.
