Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party presidential running mate Martha Karua now wants IEBC to provide details how prepared it is for the August polls.

Speaking to a consortium of civil societies in Nairobi on Friday, Karua said political parties and the civil society must demand that they be briefed on how IEBC will conduct the elections.

“We should be briefed on how they intend to conduct the elections, the tools they intend to employ,” said Karua.

The NARC Kenya party leader also demanded that the party be briefed on how the electoral body intends to address the shortfalls that led to the nullification of a presidential election in 2017.

She furthered, “and most of all one question, how has IEBC addressed the shortfalls that made the court nullify a presidential election.”

Karua said that the Azimio government will be accountable to its citizens if clinches power.

“Any serious government will realize there is a gap it can never fill; citizens gap can never be filled by the government,” she said.

“You cannot treat citizens as the enemy; we will be ready for your questions, we cannot always smile when you ask but we will answer,” furthered Karua.
