Azimio leader Raila Odinga has reiterated the need for his Nyanza stronghold to exclusively vote for ODM candidates.

Raila who was in Kisumu said he would be a weakened President if he has low numbers in the legislative houses.

The Former Premier was addressing roadside rallies after attending the opening ceremony of the ongoing Africities Conference in Kisumu.

If you don’t give me soldiers, I will be a like a castrated bull (lame duck President). Do you want to castrate me?

Raila Odinga

During the rallies, Raila endorsed Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o’s reelection.

“Here in Kisumu, my captain is Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o,” said Raila.

He added: “He is the one leading this local league as I lead the national league. Will you vote him with his entire team?”

Nyong’o was awarded a direct ticket despite former Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura battling for the same ticket.

Kisumu has attracted a good number of independent candidates across all the elective positions.

Almost all the aspirants are however supporting his Presidential bid.

Six piece

But Raila vouched for an Orange Democratic Movement six-piece voting pattern.

“I want ODM at the County Assembly, and the National Assembly. I want you to give me soldiers who will help me up there,” he said.

Raila said becoming a President without good numbers in the legislative houses is synonymous to being a castrated bull.

“If you don’t give me soldiers, I will be a like a castrated bull (lame duck President). Do you want to castrate me?” he posed.
