The debate over proposed relocation of Kisumu Boys’ High School is deepening.

Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o ignited the debate when he said the school was occupying prime land which is fit for other revenue generating activities.

According to Nyong’o, the school ought to be relocated to a place out of town in order to free the space for investment.

Anyang’ Nyong’o is a planner whose blueprint can’t be understood by basic minds. I support Prof Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.

Robert Alai

The debate has been taking different twists with alumni of the school threatening to sue the Governor.

The alumni claim that the school is an important institution, and moving it would erode its rich history.

But Kileleshwa Ward aspiring MCA Robert Alai has ruffled feathers with those opposing relocation of the school.

Alai has claimed that those opposed to the project have basic minds that cannot understand Governor Nyong’o’s vision.

“Kisumu Boys should be moved from that section and allocated alternative land elsewhere. We should have medical and educational complexes,” Alai posted in his Facebook account.

He added: “Anyang’ Nyong’o is a planner whose blueprint can’t be understood by basic minds. I support Prof Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.”

Alai is seeking to represent Kileleshwa Ward residents in Nairobi County Assembly on Orange Democratic Movement Party ticket.

Mixed reactions

However, netizens had mixed reaction over the view point of the Onjiko High School alumnus.

Let them also take those complex and medical I don’t know what where they’re locating land to Kisumu boys.

Netizen

“So you’ve all ganged up to bring down education sector in Kisumu. Are you planning to grab that land? That makes me doubt the leadership we should expect from you in Kileleshwa,” Korir Kipkoech Nickson wrote in a comment.

Another netizen, Brianto Tinto wrote: “Let them also take those complex and medical I don’t know what where they’re locating land to Kisumu boys.”

Wyckie Amadi wrote: “Correct basic minds can’t understand or withstand the Prof. There’s a land in Miwani doing absolutely nothing. Kisumu Girls and Boys should be relocated to Miwani.”
