“When I spoke to Josh he could see the club at the same point and he wanted to take the club the way I wanted to do it,” he added.

He proceeded: “So everything that he’s said, and that Stan has said when I’ve been together with both of them, they’ve always delivered.”

Premier league standing

Arsenal are fourth in the EPL table with 63 points, just two points ahead of their North London rival Tottenham.

The Gunners are 20 points behind league leaders Manchester City, and three point behind their London colleagues, Chelsea, with four matches to go till the end of the season.

Arsenal performance has been improving, having won the last three matches, coming after three consecutive losses.

“We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connection with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit the top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level,” said Arteta.

Women team manager

Arsenal have also announced a new contract extension to Arsenal women manager, Jonas Eidevall.

Josh Kroenke has shared his thoughts on why the club has decided to offer the duo new deals.

“My father and I are delighted to have extended both Mikel’s and Jonas’ contracts. It provides stability and clarity for the future and helps us all move forward together effectively,” he said.

He added: “Mikel’s commitment and passion are clear for everyone to see. We are confident that as we move forward, he will get us back to competing for top trophies in the game.”
