Retired Arch Bishop Zacheus Okoth among team to pick Raila’s running mate

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Ondinga has resolved to appoint a seven member team to advise on who he will pick as the coalition’s deputy presidential candidate.

 In a statement issued by the Azimio Secretary General Junet Mohammed, the panel shall reach its decision through a consensus and shall elect it’s chairperson.

The panel has until May 10th to submit the name of the suitable candidate to be Raila’s running mate in the August polls

“The panel shall reach its decision through consensus and shall elect it’s chairperson. The secretary of the panel shall be Ms Elizabeth Meyo,” read the statement.

The panel consists of members of the clergy among them former Kisumu Diocese Arch Bishop Zacheus Okoth, Bishop Peter Njenga.
Other members include; Senator Enoch Wambua, Michael Area, Dr. Noah Wekesa, Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa and Beatrice Moe.

The panel has until May 10th to submit the name of the suitable candidate to be Raila’s running mate in the August polls.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on Tuesday extended the deadline for submission of running mate names for the presidential and gubernatorial candidates to May 16th.
