Will Smith slaps comedian Chris Rock after joking about his wife’s alopecia condition.

Fans were in shock after Will Smith took to stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock after making a joke about the actors wife.

Chris Rock was on the stage to present the award for best documentary during the Oscar award ceremony.

Hard Tackle

The comedian began by making jokes about the audience including Smith’s wife referring to her as “G.I. Jane” due to her buzzed hair.

After this joke the American rapper took to the stage and smacked the comedians face.

“Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth,” he shouted as he got back to his seat.

Jada Pinkett, Will Smith’s wife has always spoken in the past about her struggle with alopecia.

Alopecia is a partial or complete absence of hair from areas of the body.

Oscar Award

After the incident Smith won the Oscar award for the best actor for his role as Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena Williams, in the film “King Richard.”

He went ahead and apologized for the incident while receiving the award.

“I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to my all my fellow nominees,” he said during a tearful acceptance speech for best actor.

The comedian however told the audience that the incident marked his greatest night in television history.

He further declined to file a police report following the incidence.
